Last Members' Event of 2008: the Holiday Party on Thursday, December 4th. Save the date and save the environment.

Be sure to mark your calendar: the date of the Quarterly Members' Events is not December 18th as mentioned in the last Leaflet. Our next Members' get-together is Thursday, December 4, from 5 to 7 pm. This is our traditional Holiday gathering, with music, spiced-pear vodka libations courtesy of Hangar One Vodka, beer from Lagunitas Brewery and wines from Fetzer, a tantalizing assortment of tasty hors-d'oeuvres, a variety of holiday crafts offerings, AND a few surprises (“Is that REALLY Santa Claus?”) Please remember to RSVP by Monday, December 1.

If you are not already a member and would like to attend this event, please sign-up online or call (415) 661-1316, ext. 303. Dates for members-only events will continue to be posted on our website, published in our member magazine, Leaflet, and in our monthly e-newsletter, At the Garden.

Making “green” real, we are now sending email announcements of our Quarterly Members’ Events, and have discontinued mailing invitations. In doing so, more than 16,000 postcards per year will have no chance of ending up in a landfill.

Plant Sale Discounts

Identify yourself as an SFBGS member at the final Saturday plant sale of the year to qualify for your member's discount on items purchased. November 8th will be our End-of-the-Season Sale; plants will be on display down in the Nursery. The Sale starts at 10 am and ends promptly at 1 pm. Come early for the best selection!

Last Call for CozmoDecks!

We still have some CozmoCards decks available for members. These restaurant discount cards are offered by some of the more interesting venues in town, and are good for as much as 30% off on one's lunch or dinner bill of $50 or more. It's hard spending LESS than $50 for a meal in San Francisco these days. So do stop by the Bookstore and get your free deck as an SFBGS member. And remember that these cards expire at the end of 2008.
